More than Just Blueberries...

Wow! Such response to the My Blueberry Nights post (which honestly, I almost didn´t post - thought it was too long) both on (ahem, welcome FWB reader Jimmy) and off the blog. Am plotting a sequel that will likely appear after this dissertation thing is done and when the remainder of my not-so-spare moments are not completely absorbed by the exploration of BCN.

Till then, here are some pics of La Boqueria, the most marvelous (mainly produce) market off La Rambla to contemplate...Enjoy!

Oh, you seductive little dragon fruit. You look so amazing! How could your take-it-or-leave-it flavour never fail to disappoint?

An absolute rainbow of fresh-squeezed fruit juices (how does a Papaya/Kiwi/Coconut blend sound?) for a single Euro.

Thus far, I like kiwi the best.

YAY! La B at last! :)

Fruit and all is good...

But..what about REAL food?

I had the most amazing fried ambergine the other day!!

PS. Love the dragon fruit!

I didn´t know you were waiting! Had been to ´La B´ several times before finallly posting this. I am addicted to the juice!

Will be sure to take some pics of tapas my next go-round as PROOF that I´m eating.

P.S. Had tomato bread, but was a little underwhelmed... I LIKE feta cheese... I think your palate must be more refined than mine...

Tomato bread is often a hit and miss...from my memory, only had good ones from two restaurants...

Many of them don't toast the bread enough, or used the wrong bread.

Oh well... :)

am heading to spain again soon!! More food no doubt :))

Oh dear. I. Love. Barcelona. La Boqueria is amazing. I only spent a day and a half there but crammed everything possible in in one day. Everything Gaudi except Park Guell (big sad face about that).

I take it we have a mutual friend — Miss Rachel Rauch...

Pleasure to meet you. And thank you for the kind words.

Jimmy - Yeah, I think they used the wrong bread - am encouraged though, will order again! "Soon" as in when? Sometime during my tenure?

Janet - Ha ha! Am going to Park Guell today... you're like the 5th person to mention it - I take that as a sign!

Yes, Rach and I convene on about an annual basis in the world's best cities to grocery shop and make gourmet messes at home. If you see her waltzing around LA tell her 'hi' for me.

And no, no, no... not 'kind' words... that sounds like flattery... but you're welcome for the words! The pleasure is mine.
